Aimee’s Story

Site created on April 18, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.

Over the past two months Aimee’s health has declined despite being hospitalized three times recently.  She is now using supplemental oxygen all the time and is housebound.

She has worked hard her whole life to remain healthy but has a genetic, chronic condition that has progressed regardless of her efforts.  She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth.

Aimee is currently on the waiting list for a double lung transplant at NY Columbia Presbyterian.  Although the initial wait time for transplant was many months, the timeline will likely be sped up due to the recent deterioration.

Once Aimee has the surgery, she will be inpatient at NY Presbyterian for 3 to 4 weeks.  When she comes home, she will still be recovering and will be limited in her activities for the first few months.

Thank you for the wonderful support for Aimee and her family. We’ll do our best to keep you updated as there is new information. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement for Aimee. She will be reading these and it will bring her great joy to see your comments.
