Aims’s Story

Site created on April 3, 2018

Aimee has been fighting a sickness for about a month.  She has been going to the doctors and being told she has a virus or sinus infection.  Aimee had a horrible cough.  On Saturday she started coughing up blood.  She was told that if it continued, She needed to get a CAT Scan.  Aimee came to the Emergency room Rush Chicago on Sunday.  They completed and X-ray which looked funky and advised that she needed a CAT Scan.  A CAT Scan was completed.  Aimee was advised that she had a mass in her chest/lung area and admitted to the hospital.

On Monday we meet with a bunch of teams of Doctors.  They advised this large mass was of concern.  Based on her symptoms and the bloody cough they felt that this mass could be cancerous.  They have advised that her symptoms make them to believe it could possibly be Lymphoma.  They would not know the true results until a Biopsy is completed. Monday Evening they ruled out any other masses in my body with a CAT Scan.  Great News!

Tuesday they completed a Bronchoscopy to confirm her airway was not obstructed and to see where the bleeding was coming from.  The team of doctors advised the bleeding appears to be coming from her lung that is irritated from the mass rubbing while coughing.  No other issues.  Good News!

Wednesday they completed the biopsy successfully.  The doctors are trying to rush preliminary reports.  Hopefully we will get some type of results today.

As of today we have so many un answered questions and this is day five.  We await to confirm if Cancer or non-Cancer mass still.

I will update once we know more.

Aimee underwent surgery on her cervical spine, they removed a tumor that was wrapped around her spinal cord. Surgery was successful. Aimee was moved to ICU.

Aimee was on the ventilator. She was up the whole night on it. She was successfully removed from it and later moved to a regular room.

Within 24 hours Aimee started having breathing problems and was moved back to ICU. She was having worse pain in her back and ribs. X-rays were completed and confirmed she has new lesions on her ribs which caused a broken rib.

10/23 She has surgery to put in a nerve block to see if that would be successful. It seems to have helped with some of her pain.

She is currently in ICU being treated for pnemonia.
