Journal entry by Jericka Blankenship —
We are currently at Mayo in Rochester Mn. We were only supposed to be here for 10 days for testing. On the 5 day we sat down with aidens medical team and were told the dignosis. Aidens Colon no longer functions it doesn't work. We weren't given many options. But we have decided to try the chait cecostomy tube. Its a tube that will be connected to his colon and he will have a port on the outsided of his stomach to put medicine directly into his colon.hopefully restarting it. If it works he will have to have it for a minimum of 2 years but could have it til hes an adult or life. If this doesn't work we will have to go on to Ohio childrens hospital for further testing and colon removal. They are not able to do this surgery til may 3rd because they want us to do daily clean outs and physical therapy with him everyday at Mayo til then. 5 days has now turned into 21 days. Watching him go thru all this has been so heartbreaking. But he keeps reminding me that God made him Strong like all the Superheros. He has been so brave thru all of this even though at times he is scared and in pain.
