My beautiful friend. I'm feeling a sense of helplessness as I read about this epic challenge that life has suddenly thrown in your face. Your comments about feeling like you failed your family - I hope you're able to let go of that soon. The incredible bond that all of you have was so clear to me on our last visit. It was amazing to meet your brilliant kids (not a surprise at all that they're smart, loving little people). You have built an incredible family and are from an incredible family, and there's no bigger gift or strength than that. Because of what my brother went through, I know that miracles are possible. Your humor, light and love are bigger than this. I know it - I still giggle at our antics through space and time all these years later. You are a powerful human being that leaves an impression on those around you and the people in it.

Loving you from afar ~
Andrea

Julie, my family and I have been praying for you and your family (including the furry ones) ever since you told me the news. Although everyone’s cancer experience is different, as a fellow survivor I sympathize with you the worry you are feeling for your family. I know there’s not much I can say to make this situation better but we are and will continue to truly pray for you guys and not just write and move on. You are truly an angel and no matter what God has planned for you, I pray that all will work out for the best and He gives you a true miracle... If anyone deserves a miracle, it’s you. Never give up and know that you are not alone. I wish I was closer in distance to do more on a daily basis but I would be honored to help you and your family in anyway I can including driving out there on occasion if needed. Give that Bitch and her Bastards a run for their money! We love you girl and God bless your family. 💕

I am in my 3rd year of remission from Ovarian cancer. I understand the overwhelming fear and despair. I also know that there are excellent new drugs and treatments.

I have two friends (also cancer warriors one with MBC the other with stomach cancer) whose initial prognoses were dire but by virtue of advances in chemotherapy, both are doing well. They are able to treat and manage their disease as on-going chronic medical conditions rather than terminal diagnoses.

Let your various communities (extended family, neighbors, church) help you with the basics (food, prayer, laundry, help with kids, transport to appointments) but seek out and connect with your cancer community both in person and on line. It’s important to connect with others who have walked (or are walking) the same path that you are. These are the folks who can help you with your deepest fears...because they really do “get” it.

And finally, do your best to hold a positive vision of your future. There is definitely a mind-body connection. Find/create a daily ritual (prayer, meditation, yoga, walking...whatever gives you a quiet, peaceful time) to help you envision your positive outcome.

Sending you strength and optimism. ❤️

And finally....listen to this song and then keep playing it on repeat
