Journal entry by Jillian Holmberg

Monday April 8th, 2019 will be a day that our family will remember forever. We brought Adelia home today around 2:00 PM. Within about 30 minutes Adelia and Eleanor were making slime.

Five days ago Adelia finished her course of antibiotics. We remained at the hospital in the event that some new infection would take hold as it had done before. Fortunately nothing popped up and we were discharged today.

There are so many details about the many ups and downs that we did not share in our updates; all of that is behind us now.

It would not be fair to recognize Adelia and her strength throughout this without mentioning Eleanor who showed us how amazing she truly is. For those of you who know her and think you know how blessed we are, you don’t know the half of it. Our Gramma's, G.K. and Mimi, were instrumental in our recovery. They will never cease to amaze us. Our family (both immediate and extended) and friends have given us strength and encouragement during our darkest days and we are eternally grateful.

Adelia will be hanging with us at home for several days regaining her strength and stamina. She is chomping at the bit to get back to school and see her friends and teacher who she misses dearly. The doctors do not anticipate any lifelong complications from her illness but want her to take it easy for a while.

Within about 30 minutes of being home the girls were already making slime!  We’ve had lots of cuddles with our cats as well as just some good hang out time. Those were all big on Adelia’s list of “to-dos.”

Thank you all for your support and love!
