Site created on August 16, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Adam was in a severe ATV accident on Tuesday August 13, 2019 around 7 pm. He has been at the Med in ICU since then with severe facial and brain trauma. Adam has had several surgeries and procedures to save his life. He is improving but has a long way to go. We as a family know that Adam has a huge support system and we are so thankful for all the prayers and support that you have given. Please continue to pray for complete healing for our precious Adam. AKA Buck. He will be Buck strong forever! Please visit often this site and comment often because we are reading all comments to him to encourage him to stay strong and fight! Thank you for visiting.

Journal entry by Beth mccollough

Adam has moved to a different ICU. They had a mechanical problem with the unit he was on. We will be staying in the trauma ICU which is a blessing for us. It has a lot less walking for us and a couch to sleep on in the room.

Adam had a procedure done last night to insert a drain. This is pulling some of the extra fluid off from a different area in his brain. He had to have this done due to pressure in his head was moving his brain to the opposite side too much. He still is running the fever but found out it may be from stress in his brain. A portion of the brain controls our body temperature. Stress to that part can cause fever or low body temperatures.  He is on a million meds now for many things. He is still in a medically induced coma in order to let his brain rest and body heal. I met the doctors that will eventually do his facial reconstruction.  The cheekbones and eye orbits are shattered but they said that is fixable. Thank you for your prayers and messages. I read them to him several times a day. He does hear me.
