Adalyn’s Story

Andrew McGuire's 3 year-old daughter, Adalyn, was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer. Based on the location of the tumor in her brain stem, neither surgery nor chemo are options. The short-term treatment is steroids to reduce inflammation, which will address some immediate risk, and the longer term treatment will be a 6 week course of radiation to reduce the size of the tumor. Andrew's wife Stephanie is also 8 months pregnant with their third child and due to be induced on August 2nd. 

This is heartbreaking news - and a poignant reminder of the broken state of our world. The most important thing you can do is to lift them up in prayer. Pray for miraculous intervention and healing. Pray for clarity and wisdom for her doctors. Pray for the stability and health of Stephanie and her pregnancy. Pray that we would see God glorified through this awful situation.

A Beautiful Celebration

Saturday was a beautiful time of celebration in honor of the life of our Princess Adalyn and in praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As we look ahead to a very special Easter Sunday, also Adalyn’s Birthday this year, we have been reflecting on all those things that Adalyn loved so much, and all the ways we will be celebrating her on her birthday this year and forever. This year we will enjoy Adalyn’s favorite desserts: Key Lime Pie and Jeni’s Wildberry Lavender Ice Cream. We would be honored if you would remember Adalyn with her favorite treats on her birthday as well. 

If you don’t have a church to celebrate Easter at this Sunday, Forest Hills Baptist Church will be holding 4 services at 8am, 9am, 10am, and 11am in person and online. We’d love to see you there!
