Journal entry by Abby Henrikson

Tomorrow ends week 5 of treatment. Yay!!! After tomorrow I have 6 more treatments to. I can not wait and I am counting down the days.

Physical therapy has begun for my pinched nerve and is going well. Having less pain then I was which is a very good thing. Now it's just that annoying pain that you know is still there. You start doing more because it is starting to feel better and then it gets aggravate all over again. It's just time and doing little things for now and building up.
It really makes you think about our daily routines and how we sleep at night. How is our posture and we have a quality pillow. How we just carry our bodies especially in times when there is a lot of stress.

When this is all over I would like to go home and just sleep for a whole week straight.

Today the nurses told me they were going to have me stand in the lobby and help people who struggle with the radiation mask as I have overcome so much since I started. I told them my successful process has been adivan an hour before, a warm blanket, a pillow under my arm for support, and the blue donut ring they let me hold. I use those items everyday and it seems to do the trick. Whatever works right?

On the last day of treatment I get to ring the bell. I am so looking forward to that. Bells, whistles, and streamers. I want the works. But, if I can't have all that just the bell will do. :)

Time to put this chapter behind me and start enjoying my new puppy I have waiting for me at home.
