Abby and Judy’s Story

Site created on June 9, 2019

On June 1, 2019, Abby and Judy were involved in a single vehicle motorcycle accident. They both sustained injuries that required being care flighted to an Austin Trauma Center. Abby's injuries include multiple lacerations from a barb-wire fence he landed on as well as a fractured right ankle that required surgery to repair and damage to his left shoulder that will require future surgery to repair. Judy's injuries include 8 fractured vertebrae, 11 broken ribs, a broken clavicle, broken radius at the wrist, broken finger and bruised lung. She will be wearing a body and neck brace for several weeks as she recovers. She had surgery on her finger, but at this time do not believe that she will need any other future surgeries. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support and words of hope and encouragement!

Journal entry by Amber Giese

Wonderful progress today. Doctor was able to perform skin grafting on most areas today. One last area on top of his foot received Integra to help promote more soft tissue generation. In 3 weeks, we should see the final skin grafting.

Continued prayers for healing and acceptance of skin and healing of donor sites are appreciated. God has been so very faithful to us all.
