Aaric had his latest Cardiology check up yesterday. He continues to do well. His sats are lower then I would like hanging out around 88 to 91 O2 range. Other then that his tests all look great.

Aaric had a cardiology check up today. Everything looked good with his echo. He is still having to do a 24hr holster study cause they are continuously monitoring Aaric for sinus node dysfunction due to picking up occasional junctional rhythm on his EKGs. At some point in future he most likely will have to have a pacemaker implanted.

Aaric Started Kindergarten in the fall, He has been doing pretty good health-wise, other than he picked up the flu last week and ended up admitted to the hospital over night. He seems to be finally recovering from the flu. In other news , he got approved by Make a wish for a trip to Disney world which was supposed to be in Oct 2015 but the date is now being moved up to this summer.

I realize it has been a long time at least a year sense I have updated Aaric's journal. Its going on 2 years sense he had his last open heart surgery (the fontan). I guess after the last surgery you kinda of want to feel like everything is finally okay with your child.

Aaric is doing very well. Our check ups every six months with  the cardiologist,  make me face reality that his heart is still not normal. Especially when you see  EKG wires hooked up to your 3 year old, and the  echo cardiograms they do of his heart, and the holster monitor study every six months. Its like its a waiting game of what is coming next.

Aaric had a Cardiology appt yesterday with Dr.Karr. He had an echo done everything looks great nothing is leaking. Everything is flowing correctly. He got to come off the Lasix one of his meds. His oxygen is up into the 90s now.

Once they have a event recorder available they are going to call me to try and wean him off the digoxin. So please pray he will not have any tachycardia issues, during that time. I am hoping he gets to come off of the med, cause he was not on it before he had this surgery.

So in other words Aaric is doing GREAT and his heart looks awesome and has fully healed.

They finally did the echo a little while ago, we are just waiting for them to read it, and officially say we can go home. I am so ready to just run out of this place. This was our longest stay of all 3 surgeries, he has had. And being on isolation for half the stay was really quite miserable.

Well I had the appointment today, the babies heart is still pretty much the same. Although what exactly is wrong kinda keeps changing. He still only has a single ventricle working. The other one is small and underdeveloped and not functioning. It hasn't grown sense last echo and the Dr. didn't expect it to, although I was hoping it would.  Some things looked a little more clear today. They think the aorta will be a good size at this point. Where as last time they did not, which is a really good thing. Although they can still not really fix the heart (as in make it so there are two functioning ventricles as there are in a healthy heart) they can just do the surgery to make it so he can live with his heart this way. So there is an even amount of blood going to both the lungs and body..They really dunno how long a single ventricle heart will last, as only have one pumping chamber does put extra stress and work on the heart. I will continue to let you know the updates, as I find out,  I have one more echo in August before I give birth. His due date is September 15th 2009. So only 9 more weeks
