I know he recently had a hard day, often has a hard day, but seeing all those flexes quantified is truly a testament to all his hard work and determination and to all of his amazing supports. From afar his tenacity is extraordinary and his progress seems truly miraculous. Hopefully he and you will find that there are more good days and fewer bad days as time goes on.

Thanks for this post. Sounds like another packed week of highs and lows, but the trajectory is up up up in so many ways. I relate to the infinity of sadness/joy so much. I get that now. What helps me is - oh no not another quantified self - is tracking my state of mind. So when I’m in a shitty state I can look at my calendar and know for a fact that it won’t last because it never ever has. Finity rules. Ok, not to drown you in too much TMI, but I also have recently found a combo of Magnesium and b6 +b12 to be amazing for my sleeps. Since Ari and I share some genes maybe these simple things are worth a try. Love you guys and so proud of Ari’s incredible flexoliciousness.

Flextastic FLEXmania! I mean, geez, seriously, Ari, you are incredible! And "a lat pulldown with sixty motherfucking pounds" is badass! And I totally hear you on the daisy-chain of tracking devices. I did use it recently to my advantage. My sleep was off, so I supplemented with some Benadryl a few nights in a row. My daughter reported to me that it's bad to take for long periods of time (which I knew) but that it can also lessen the quality of sleep. Well, Oura kicked that theory to the curb! lol On the nights I took the Benadryl, my numbers were awesome. So take that, stupid article! Sending y'all lots of hugs and love from currently rainy Palo Alto. xoxoxo

LOVE the video and Ari’s reports on his flexilicious training. Perhaps future film director Ari Blachford’s first short will be a Rocky-like video montage of his training and his Ali-like return to the ring. Ari — for those of us who don’t see you in person or on video every day/week, the improvements are so marked! I nearly fell over when I understood every word you said at your grandfather’s memorial when you explained you weren’t necessarily in the “headspace” to give the eulogy you’d prepared yourself. And this video of you pushing your assistant takes you to the table where I sat with you in September at lunch — and it was a struggle to understand that your reply to my question about whether Grandna’s cooking was good was “is the Pope Catholic?” Keep it coming!
