Thank you for visiting my site.  My mommy & daddy and my entire family appreciate all of your prayers and support along my journey.

My name is Zoey Khaleesi Milton.  I was born on Tuesday, January 24th 2017 at 3:50 pm.  I weighed in at 1 lb. 10 oz. and 12.5 inches long.  I have had quite a journey since I came into the world, but I am a warrior princess and I am fighting hard everyday.  I have had some complications but with my determination and feisty personality, as well as love, prayers and support from all over I have been able to overcome so much.  The doctor's have said that I have a grade 4 brain bleed, but I seem to be very alert and responsive.  I especially react to my daddy's voice whenever he comes to spend time with me.  All of my head ultrasounds are showing that the bleed is not getting any worse and in fact it seems to be better each time they check.  I also had a small hole in my heart, which is very common in preemies.  It is also known as PDA which basically means that there was an opening in my heart that did not close on it's own.  So on Wednesday, February 1st doctor's performed surgery to close the opening.  Being the little warrior that I am, I tolerated the surgery very well and the doctor's were able to successfully close the opening.  I experienced a small set back early the next morning when one of my lungs collapsed, but the nurses reassured mom and dad that this is very common and I was actually doing just fine.  I continued right along every day pushing forward until Friday evening the 3rd, I decided to give everyone a little scare.  They're still not sure if I was really having seizures or if I was just not tolerating the ventilator that I was on, but ever since they changed me to a new ventilator...I seem to be doing much, much better.  It has been over a week now and I have been stable and progressing really well.  Mommy has been able to start interacting with me more, doing my oral care and diaper changing.  I even got to meet my brother and squeeze his finger.  He was so excited to meet me!  I have surpassed my birth weight and I keep eating more and more.  My newest and most favorite milestone so far has been one on one time with my mommy.  On Sunday evening, I got to experience my mommy's touch.  The nursing staff assisted mommy in holding me and I tolerated this very well.  In fact, mommy and I really enjoy our one on one time.  Yesterday they changed out my ventilator tubes and removed the tube from the throat so now I only have tubes in my nose.  This is a huge improvement, even though it hides most of my face.

Thanks again for all the love and prayers!  Please continue to check back for updates as my family will be updating as much as possible or as soon as there are any new developments.  Love, Zoey
