Yuri Jeon

 Yuri has always been a “giver”.  Over the years Yuri has had clients who were ill or injured or frail, and Yuri went to their homes to do their hair, often without charge.  She cut and styled wigs for clients undergoing chemo.  We all know, as well as Yuri, that nothing makes you feel better than the way you look after a Yuri blow dry! All of us who love and admire Yuri were devastated by the kidney cancer diagnosis she received.

"Surprises in life...Life can change in split second...One minute you are laughing and joking until the doctor comes in saying the C word.   Forest Gump said "life is like box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get!!!...well I picked the one with cancer, it was a shock, everyone knows that I am never sick.  But it is what it is and we are facing it.  I am the blessed one.
There are so many people in this world, fighting by themselves, but I am surrounded by amazing friends and family who are on my side to get through this together.  I will get through this,  Yes it is scary knowing that I have a basketball size tumor in my tummy.  Yes I am scare about surgery and Yes I am very sure I will kick this...The Yuri Way.  Thank you for your love and support...my words cannot express how thankful and grateful I am for all of you. Yuri's life has been about doing for others.  She cares for her mom, her daughter Alex, and she has been like a mother to her niece Mo, who works in Yuri's salon.  She always puts their needs ahead of her own.  Yuri is not one to ask for help, but many have asked what they can do to help her get through the surgery and treatments in the weeks and months ahead.  While she needs to focus on her health, she is very stressed about the cost of her treatment and the loss of her income during this time.  She has insurance, but the high deductibles and procedures that will not be covered are weighing on her.  And…as if this were not difficult enough, her fiancé Michael is having a second back surgery.
