If you think karma is a bi3#h, cancer, meet Luci.
OK, I put on my warrior queen suite (also known as big girl panties) and I am ready.

Let's BRIEFLY get you up to speed:

- I was a born July 2, 1962 to Robert and JoAnn Styles.
- Yadda, yadda, yadda...
- Married to Jeff September 30, 1989
- More yadda... I know - I skipped over the best part :)
- 59+ years later, Jeff takes me to Florida for the month of December 2021 and I swear I will never move to that awful place.
- February 5, 2022 sold our house in Burton.
- February 6, 2022 flew to Florida to buy a new home.
- March 12 my sister Mary came to Burton to help me pack and gave me a cold that turned into pneumonia... how long do you think I am going to hear about that - how she "saved" my life by giving me a cold - UGH!
- April 15, haircut with Brandon
- April 22, routine chest x-ray to monitor pneumonia showed a "nodule suspicious for malignancy"
- May 18, 2022 CT scan "suggesting primary lung neoplasm w/metastatic lymph nodes, blah, blah, blah"
- June 16, 2022 Biopsy positive for adenocarcinoma of right upper lobe, PD-L1 70%
- June 24 confirmed by PET scan
- June 29 appointment with Dr Jester at Advent Health confirmed dx of stage 3 something lung cancer, will be more specific after node biopsy.
- July 2, Happy f'ing birthday to me - welcome to the 60's!
- July 6, contrary to popular belief - showed a healthy, FUNCTIONING brain - no cancer.
- July 13 node biopsy is positive placing the cancer at a stage 3B
- July 19 visit with Dr. Jester - Tx plan is for 33 sessions of radiation, 3 courses of chemo (1 every 3 weeks with Cisplantin and Alinta for you technical nerds) and a chaser of 12 months of immunotherapy with durvalumab - for some exciting reading - you can check out the Pacific Trial here https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejmoa1809697
- July 25 mapped, molded and tatted for radiation - always thought my first tattoo would be, well nothing since I never thought I would have a tattoo
- July 26 second opinion at Moffitt Cancer Center "concurred with EXCELLENT treatment plan" outlined by Advent Health Dr. Jester - yea!
So now you are up to speed. Next step is for the insertion of the port on July 29 and then I start chemo and radiation the week of August 1. There is of course a lot more technical info - if you are really interested - I can give you access to my medical record, but for this site - I think that is more than enough "technical" $h1t.

This has allowed Jeff and I to get to know our new state and create a social life like the rest of the peeps in Florida consisting of tests, doctor appointments and a variety of ailments - welcome to Florida!

Just for the record, this is not a "journey" or any other cute euphemism you want to use, it will be a trip to hell with a redhead, kinda like Thelma and Louise, except it is cancer and CiCi and in the final scene - CiCi is sending cancer over the cliff on its own!

So buckle up buttercups - this is going to be one rocky ride!
