Dear Friends, Family, and Community, 

Our dear father and husband, Rabbi Dr Yosef Shagalow, is working very hard on healing from Covid-19. He is currently in the ICU, sedated and using a ventilator to assist his lungs in healing. This is a time when he needs our prayer and support. We are so grateful for all of the prayers and good deeds being done in his merit. We see and appreciate your messages and we are looking forward to sharing them with Rabbi Shagalow when he is ready. 

We will continue to keep you updated through posting on this site. We ask that you please continue to pray and increase in good deeds in the merit of a quick and complete recovery for Yosef Yitzchak Ha'Levi Ben Chaya Clara. Our father has a special affinity for the mitzvah of Tefillin, and would be very touched if those who are able would put on Tefillin in his merit. Please post or send us photos we can share with him when he is able to see them. For those not obligated in the mitzvah of Tefillin, please give charity in multiples of the number 18 (the numerical value of the hebrew word Chai - Life). We also ask that this Friday night families light Shabbat candles to help bring more light into this dark time.

Our father has always been a source of strength and support to our community and we pray that he take that same ability and turn it inwards to give himself strength to heal, while we continue to support him from the outside.

We will do our best to continue to keep you updated here. At this time we have limited contact with the hospital so updates will be posted when they are available. 

We feel and appreciate all of the love, support and prayer that has been sent our way. Thank you all.
