Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
Wyatt was born with a rare genetic disorder, Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). We have been bracing ourselves for this day since we found out his diagnosis when he was two months old. Our family history with this disease led us to believe that he would likely present with symptoms in adulthood, but here we are with his latest MRI result which have indicated that if he doesn't get help, he will begin to progress with symptoms that will eventually lead to death.
That does not sound very hopeful, but with God there is hope, and that hope first and foremost comes from our faith in Christ. We know that he gave us this beautiful, surprise baby boy 7 1/2 years ago and we have always trusted that God has a great plan for Wyatt's life. And our hope and our faith have lead us to an amazing medical team in Minnesota. They are world renowned for their advancements in ALD. We will be taking Wyatt (and perhaps the family) to Minnesota where he will receive a Bone Marrow Transplant. We have many questions about what this will look like, and we know that our family and friends are equally anxious to know about Wyatt's journey. So we hope that you will take the time to follow his story and will surround Wyatt in your prayers and encouragement. While I can see some trepidation in him, he continues to be the happy, joyful child that we know and love. Thank you for following Wyatt's story. We look forward with hope and we trust that God's healing powers will be laid out in Wyatt's life.
