Over Christmas, our Pat became very ill. After a couple of hospitalizations and thorough testing in Pineville and Rock Hill, we learned that Pat has lung cancer which has metastasized to his bones, primarily his spine. He has had many appointments to treat ancillary complaints, and he began his first chemotherapy treatment a week ago. Although the schedule has been rigorous, we are happy to see that his appetite has improved, he has more energy, and he has been able to enjoy some sports on TV with his boys. We are very hopeful that this progress will continue.

To say that we have felt loved and protected by our God, our family, and our friends during this time is an understatement. Every day we found strength from the countless acts of kindness, and we relied on them. Please continue to keep Pat, his doctors and medical teams, Chris, and her wonderful boys and their families in your prayers.
