Well, finally ..... welcome to my CaringBridge website. 
Back in June in conversation, I told a few of you that I would set up the site .  Well, it's the end of July, which begs the question;  "Does this sound familiar  to anyone?   Using it to keep family and friends updated in one place is the obvious  goal,  and too it offers me a special place to sing praises and thanksgiving to a Battalion of Prayer Warriors ,  my Sisters and Brothers in Christ. 
I love you all,  "unrepeatable miracles of God" in His son's name, Jesus!

How things started: 
After Easter I felt a sore throat coming on strong and figured I was in store for another doozie of a cold.  Kinda like the ones we share too around the Christmas Holidays.  The cold never manifested itself and  the sore throat wasn't that bad really or maybe I was getting use to it.  Couple weeks passed  and  went to primary care doc. Hhe prescribe an antibiotic.  Not really effective and we tried another one.  Same story, so I asked for an ENT referral.  Two weeks later I  that appointment he biopsied my left tonsil and  left lymph node also had a CT scan the same day.  Both tissue biopsies tested positive and CT scan indicated lymph node on right side were also involved.  A PET scan was schedule and all of the above confirmed in greater detail along with left soft pallet and the left side of tongue was too.
Man you can't keep anything from a PET scan.  Wonder how long I've had a deviated septum?  :-0 

Next steps:
Consults with radiation oncologist at Kennestone Hospital and chemo oncologist at  Northside Hospital Cancer Center in Marietta.  I also sent authorization for test results and scans to be sent to University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute.  Four years ago I went down the for proton radiation therapy for prostate cancer.  Since then most of you know how blessed I was with the outcome and what a wonderful experience in faith and sharing faith with other patients over the  seven weeks of therapy really was.  For those reasons prayers were lifted by me and so many that UFHPTI would accept my case and that medicare would pay.  Praises for prayers answered.  Went to JAX for another PT scan and simulation July 4-7.  At the conclusion advised that I would start on Aug. 2nd and yet again by payers and His grace.  I started treatments yesterday, 1st of 6 or 7 weekly chemo infusions w/Carboplatin and 1st of 36 proton radiation procedures over 6 weeks. Therapy will end  Sept. 6th.  I  hope to be home around  9/16.
