On Saturday, November 19, Will experienced swelling in his ankles, by Monday morning he was swollen all over his body and had a rash. He went to the doctor and after some concerning blood results was sent to the ER at DeKalb Medical Center. He was admitted for complete kidney failure and spent a week at DeKalb having tests performed and he started dialysis. The cause of the kidney failure is unknown, but it is significant damage to both kidneys. A biopsy was not performed due to concerns about bleeding due to the scarring of both kidneys. Will came home on Tuesday, November 22. The current plan is dialysis Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of every week. He will eventually get a kidney transplant. The family members who are of age will begin the process of seeing if they are a match for donation after Thanksgiving. The family prays one of them is a match. Will will go back for an outpatient surgery the week of November 28 to have a port put into his arm to make dialysis easier.
