Dear family and friends,

Most of y’all, our family and friends, know about Robin and Matt’s  24 year old son Cole and Cole’s struggle with addiction for the last 7 years. After many attempts over the years to get clean and go through rehab he had finally become successful in living his life clean of drugs. He had been clean for the past year and a half. He was working at Hollywood Feed and getting to be around what he loves most, animals. He had also just adopted a new puppy, a German Shepherd/Lab mix named Nahko. He was on the right track, loving his life clean, and doing great!

Unfortunately, this past summer Cole began experiencing symptoms which lead to the devastating diagnosis of liver disease and failure. His prognosis wasn’t good and was given 2-3 months to live but we had all hoped and prayed for the best, which would be for him to make it to the 6 month mark for a possible transplant. On Christmas Eve he was rushed into surgery for an infection in his foot related to a complication from the disease. Unfortunately, the prognosis was not good. The infection had spread throughout his body and his body and organs were beginning to fail. As you all can imagine, Robin and Matt are completely devastated. We all are. Cole is aware of his situation and cannot believe his reality and life left are very short.

Cole is currently in hospice at Seasons Hospice in Cumming, Ga. Robin has taken leave from her job and is staying with Cole 24-7. Robin wanted us to reach out to all of her and Matt and Cole’s family and friends and provide an update on Cole’s condition. Robin is the most wonderful mom. She’s the definition of a mother’s love loving her sweet Cole throughout all of the good times and the bad. She will be by his side until the very end. Visitors are welcome any time any day and are encouraged during his final time on this earth. As most of you know Robin lost her mom in March. Losing her child now is just unimaginable. We pray she finds the strength and her continued faith in God to continue on after losing the two most important people in her life.

We will also update his prognosis here as it continues to change. If you have photos of Cole and any special memories you would like to share on here you can do it under the well wishes tab at the top.

***A Go Fund Me link has been set up to help her. It is at the top of this page/home page under the tab Ways To Help.
