As friends and family know, Wes and Tina have been struggling with Wes's congestive heart failure since 2003, only a year after they were married. It has been a long road with many ups and downs for both of them since.
Wes was being followed at UCLA with the idea of future transplant if things ever got worse; that day has come, and Wes was worked up and put on the waiting list at UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center Friday, Dec. 15, 2017.
He will remain at UCLA and not return home until he gets a new heart, since he is required to be on I.V. drips in hospital while he waits. Estimates for timing are a few weeks to a few months. Perhaps morbid but true, we're being told that one could come sooner than later since we are in the holiday season.
We will use this site for updates on important events, scheduling visits, and also for recruiting volunteers who might be able to help with Wes's physical transition from hospital to home and everyday life. We appreciate words of hope and encouragement, and prayers that Wes and Tina can both glorify God in the midst of their adversity.
(Note: As much as Wes hates the idea of social media, he has finally broken down enough to extol its merits since it will ultimately be benefiting him. Ha!)
