Welcome to Wendy’s Caring Bridge website.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. 

Wendy was diagnosed with breast cancer on Friday, July 17th after discovering a lump a couple of weeks earlier.  We are still awaiting some important test results to determine a treatment plan, but here is what we do know:

There are three spots on her right breast, each one more significant than the other. The most concerning is under her armpit and has some lymph node involvement. The cancer is HER2 Negative and Estrogen & Progesterone Positive.  From the research, this should open up some more options for treatment. She tested negative for both the BRCA 1 gene and BRCA 2 gene. Her ki67 score is in the 40-50% range, which means the cancer is being aggressive and spreading quickly. 

Feel free to check out the journal entries where we'll post updates as we get new information. Wendy is doing well. She's practical and just plans on beating cancer while living life. Feel free to leave encouraging comments and if you have questions, you can message me. I'll be as open as Wendy wants me to be. 

And lastly, while all of this was a surprise to us, it wasn't to God and so we know He will walk with Wendy each day. We would love your prayers. Once there's a plan and we start to move forward, I'll post ways that you can help and support our crazy family.
