Vickie Whaley We Love Vickie!

First post: Apr 26, 2021 Latest post: May 10, 2021
Welcome everyone🌷We may, or may not know each other personally, but we all share one thing in common.

Through the years, as family and friends of Vickie, we have been deeply touched by her gracious, loving life...

We have admired her example as a devoted wife, an amazing Mom to her three girls, and an incredible Grandma to her two grandchildren. We have been encouraged by her thoughtfulness and caring expressions of kindness...by her warm, gorgeous smile...by her powerful prayers and comforting words in our times of need...by her sweet cards on our birthdays or other special occasion - complete with a short, loving note, straight from her heart, penned in her distinctive, beautiful hand writing...by her phone calls at just the moment we needed a little lift...by her visits and kind deeds...by sharing fun times with her, full of laughter and great conversation...and by a multitude of other ways she has impacted our lives and filled us with her joy and strength; her love and laughter; her understanding and wisdom; her passion for Jesus and her passion for her family and friends...

Because of this - and sooooooooo much more - we ALL LOVE VICKIE! ❤️🌷❤️

On April 1, Vickie received a shocking diagnosis which we are all still trying to digest: stage 4 pancreatic cancer with metastasis to her liver...

We are so grateful Vickie is being cared for by the top oncologist at UNC, Dr Sanoff, and her team. Together, they have decided upon a powerful battle plan of treatment with the following upcoming schedule:

1. April 21 - insertion of port for chemo administration
2. April 23 - appointment with MD’s to discuss treatment specifics, further answer questions, etc
3. April 26 - begin aggressive chemo treatments, every other week, continuing anywhere from 3 - 6 mos.

So now in Vickie’s time of need, we have the opportuniy to shower upon her a little taste of the love she has so freely showered on us through the years...

In an effort to simplify communication for Vickie and her family, we will be posting updates on Vickie’s treatment, condition, prayer and practical needs right here so all of us can know exactly how best to help and to pray. Please feel free to leave notes, encouraging words, Scripture verses - whatever you think will best support Vickie and shower her with love - here for her to read at her leisure.
She will LOVE that!🌼

Most of all, let’s commit together to continually COVER Vickie and her family in powerful prayer during this challenging season. They are facing a jouney no one would ever sign up for💔

In light of that, let’s do for Vickie what she would do for us, if the roles were reversed...

Let’s join together, and cover each appointment and procedure with heartfelt intercession for God’s protection, wisdom, and healing power. Let’s be open for the Spirit of God to highlight Scripture verses or special words of encouragement He would have us share here with Vickie to strengthen and minister to her during this difficult time. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus to the entire Whaley family in practical ways as specific needs arise along the way. And let’s keep our eyes focused on The Author and Finisher of our Faith, as He cares for His Precious Beloved Child, Vickie, far better than any of us ever could. She truly IS in His Capable, Loving Hands...and we can find comfort, strength, and rest in that sure certainty...🙌🏼🙏🙌🏼

On behalf of Vickie and her family, thank you in advance for your love and support toward this VERY special Godly woman we all love with ALL of our hearts!

And thank you, Vickie, for the multitude of ways you continuously touch our lives with your grace and with The Father's Heart. We love you so, Vickie, and are fully committed to walking with you step by step through this challenging time, trusting God for His Love and Powerful Healing Grace to be lavished upon you each moment ahead...🙏🏻❤️😘

“Now to Him who is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think, infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
