"Hear my cry, O God, give heed to my prayer. From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a refuge for me, a tower of strength against the enemy. Let me dwell in Your tent forever; let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings." Psalm 61: 1-4.
Our beloved sister, friend, mother, and daughter Nicole Anderson was recently diagnosed with a rather rare cancer called Advanced Cholangiocarcinoma, also called Bile Duct Cancer. The Anderson family has already walked through many trials battling Crohn's disease with their children, Jake and Sarah, and this new diagnosis has been incredibly difficult to bear. Our hope is that many friends and family both near and far will be able to check this page for updates on her condition, as well as know how to pray for her and her precious family.
Even as our hearts are breaking for Nicole, we have hope in our Heavenly Father who alone knows every cell in her body, who has ordained every day for her before there was yet one of them. This was not a surprise to Him and He promises that His grace will be sufficient for every step of this difficult road. Please join us in praying that the Lord would have mercy and spare her life; that He would give Mike and Nicole wisdom as they explore treatment options; that He would give the doctors and nurses who are overseeing her care wisdom and compassion for her. Please pray as well that He would help both Nicole and Mike to cling to Him and to trust Him through all of the overwhelming emotions and sorrow; that they would SEE His strength being made perfect in their weakness, and know His presence in ways they could never have anticipated. Pray that He would help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith, who has endured the cross for them and knows what it is like to suffer. Pray that He would comfort them and be a tower of strength to them; reminding them daily, moment by moment of His precious promises; that they would cast their cares on Him knowing that He cares for them, and that they would truly take refuge in the shadow of His wings.
Another way to bless and love on this family is by visiting their GoFundMe page (click on "Help Nicole"). Please consider giving to help with medical costs and monthly expenses as Mike takes time off work to help care for Nicole and their children. They have already been so blessed by many who have given to help support and encourage them on this difficult road.
Thank you for standing with Nicole and her family in prayer, and for supporting them through this overwhelming season. "Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever." Ephesians 3:20-21
