 Hi everyone,

I have decided to use this wonderful website to communicate updates with you all. We are overwhelmed with the amount of love, concern and  well wishes that I needed to find an efficient way to stay in touch with everyone.

On Monday the 25th of September we got the first idea by way of a CT scan that something was not quite right and discovered that Wayne has Metastatic Renal Cell Lung Cancer. .  That Friday they did a biopsy of the lung.  Without going into the day by day appointments and outcomes, I’ll just say- the wait for the tests that would give them the targeted treatment plan was extremely difficult.

In the meantime, he was getting very very weak. His history with chronic Anemia and the toll the disease was placing on his system, forced us to go to ER on Sunday Oct. 8 - he was there a full week.  October 18th we met with the Oncologist where we laid out the plan - to use a pill form of Chemo.  He first saw a bit of improvement but now, of course, the tiredness that so often accompanies such treatment, is setting in. We’ll take it!
We are bolstered by the knowledge that a friend’s father-in-law was diagnosed with the same cancer - took the same chemo - and a year later is cancer free.

For me:
Coping with news like this comes in stages - somewhat like the stages of grief.  At first- a gasp and tears - as the idea of what the diagnosis could mean flooded my head and heart.

Over the next 10 days, as the testing continued and without sure knowledge of what we were dealing with, the anxiety overwhelmed me, as one would imagine.

But I want to ask of myself - and of you - that we do this differently.

I believe positive energy helps.  Negative energy blocks.

We are doing our part to follow the path the doctors have given us. We are asking questions, leaving no stone unturned as to options and other plausible treatments.   I’m seeing that Wayne gets intense nutrition and the rest he needs.

And then, we are asking for a miracle - A little overt intervention from the only One who is REALLY in control. We're focusing on the other side of this health crisis.  Yes, a return to good health.  It doesn’t mean we won’t have a struggle ahead, but going through the challenge with peace and hope will be better for Wayne, AND US too, if we focus on the a sincere and positive belief that Wayne will make it through this.

Wayne is amazing.  His spirits are holding on positive - and he is strong and peaceful.

Here is a plan going forward:
Many of you have lovingly offered to help. Thank you, thank  you!
I will be using this site to post any times that we may need an extra hand.
