Wayne was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in November 2016. He underwent an esophagectomy at Vanderbilt University Hospital on March 9, 2017. The surgery removed the cancerous portion of his esophagus and pulled his stomach up to make a new esophagus. He came through the surgery well but still has a long road to recovery. We will be using this website to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
