Welcome to Dad’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayers, support, and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Dad’s has been sick off and on since February of this year.  His symptoms started as a cold, but over time progressed to multiple spasms in his back and episodes where his abdomen would become rock hard.  Multiple trips to doctors were met with pain medication and unknown diagnosis.   These episodes persisted for multiple weeks until one evening the pain and spasms were so severe, Dad collapsed to the ground and had trouble breathing.  He was whisked away to the ER.  After multiple tests, CT and MRI, and consultations with his oncologist, the culprits were discovered.

Dad has been diagnosed with two types of cancer – Multiple Myeloma and gastrointestinal stromal cancer (or GIST).  He has two tumors. One tumor is located on the upper right side of this back and is causing his back pain and is a build up a cancer cells produce by mutated Plasma Cells that also reside in his bone marrow.  The other tumor is located in his abdomen on his left side.  It’s about the size of a grapefruit.  Every day is a battle, but we know Dad is a fighter…
