On Friday, May 7th, Wayne was hit from behind by a truck while driving his tractor hauling a trailer. Wayne was airlifted from the scene to HCMC ER and subsequently ICU. Upon examination, it was determined that he had dislocated his hip and fractured it and fractured two of his vertebrae. Aside from road rash on his head and body and the fractures, he was surprisingly stable for the accident he endured. He was intubated Friday into Saturday to secure his airway. Once that was removed, he was able to talk with us. Upon reevaluation by the HCMC providers, it was determined that Wayne needs surgery on his back before he can get out of bed or his hip could be addressed. Of course, he is not thrilled he cannot get out of bed. We are seeing God's care through all of this from what could have been a much worse outcome as we come to understand the miraculous details that surrounded that day. God has also been caring for us through the support of our friends, neighbors, and family. Thank you for your prayers and concern.
