Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Wayne Clinton. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Wayne has been diagnosed with a form of ALS for 5 years.  He was taken into the hospital Saturday April 17th because his diaphragm was finally affected and he was unable to breathe.

Wayne was put on a bi-pap machine to stabilize and return home but when he was taken off he could no longer breath without it.  It appeared to everyone Sunday that Wayne is now at end stage and receiving palliative care.

Pastors Dan and Rick were able to visit him on Sunday afternoon where he told us he won't be leaving the hospital.  Dear Church, your elder was facing the end with so much bravery, faith and love for God and people.  We prayed with him, read scripture to him and sang over him and kissed him good bye.  You were all in his thoughts.

There are very strict limitations on visits and not even Konni was going to be allowed to see him again after Sunday.  We prayed Monday night for God to make a way, for a mercy to spare Wayne from dying alone.  This is what Konni texted shortly after:

"I was so happy that I got to be with Wayne during the night. (Answer to prayer) They threw the restrictions out the window during the night shift hoping he would pass while I was there...he did not. They told me I had to leave before the day shift. They got him off of the bi-pap about 3:00am and on oxygen through his nose. He did ok with that because he was relaxed. Not too long after, he went to sleep. They are hoping they can keep him comfortable and stable until I can go back to his new room. Still, I am the only one who would be able to see him. Maybe 3ish."

So Konni and the Family are waiting for a call back Monday.   The outpouring of love from all of you toward Wayne has been truly overwhelming.  We passed this on as best we could.  He sends his love back to you.
