Watson My Son

First post: Sep 11, 2020
Watson is one of my beautiful Haitian sons.  Many of you who will visit this site have heard me share the miraculous story of how Watson became my son. It was truly a case of God's Meticulous Orchestration of Events (GMOOE!). Watson will be my son for his entire life. I am his only parent and he is absolutely a precious gift to me.  Watson is so kind, generous, funny, loving and helpful. He is one of my kids that notices when someone is hurting or needs help & immediately does what he can to fix the situation without being told . He is a very special kid. Watson's story is still being written & you can be a very special part of it. Right now Watson needs to have very urgent surgery to help save his life. He has Pectus Excavatum or bka~Sunken Chest Syndrome. His chest is concave and is pressing on his heart and lungs. It is impairing his cardiac and respiratory function. As he grows, there is less and less room for his heart and lungs to function properly. Watson needs a very intricate surgery that will place rods in his chest to expand the chest cavity space until he has finished growing and then a second surgery to remove the rods when he is 18 or so. He will be 15 in June & this surgery has to be performed before the growth plates close. This surgery has to be done right away and can not be done in Haiti. Watson does not currently have any lung or heart damage but his symptoms are getting increasingly severe.  There is currently a surgeon in the states who specializes in this procedure that has verbally agreed to take Watson's case but nothing is finalized yet. Here is how you can help. First, join Watson's prayer team and check this site regularly for updates or include your email and get notified when an update is posted. Give a gift to Eyes Wide Open International's medical fund to help Watson and other Haitian children with medical needs. Participate by sharing Watson's story and by getting involved with any events that we may host to help him, like our on-line auction coming up. God bless you for caring & sharing, praying & Loving!
