Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.  So here's Mike's story :

It all started June 2014 with a mass Mike discovered in his groin.  With that biopsy came the diagnosis of diffuse large B cell non Hodgkin lymphoma---yikes!!
First round of R-chop chemo treatments began in the Fall of 2014.  With this first diagnosis, Mike worked through it all-----it's was his busy season you know!!

Mike was clear until Spring 2015 when renal cell carcenoma was discovered and part of his kidney had to be removed.

Then the lymphoma decided to return in the Fall of 2015 with first a mass in his lung - which part of it was removed, and then a mass behind his left eye.  The battle scars are big, but so is BIG MIKE!!!  After surgery, RICE chemo treatments began and the STEM CELL treatment team at Hillman Center Center was introduced.

Mike is scheduled for his Stem Cell transplant the last week of April 2016 at Shadyside Hospital. We are coming up on 2 years that Mike has been fighting cancer---and yes, he is a WARRIOR!!!
