Finally ready to start the story of my miracle healing from the severe stroke I had on Sep 20, just 30 days ago.  Sorry for the delay!

SEP 19:  I was camping with my neighbor, Simon Penner, in the primitive campsites just east (behind) the Great Sand Dunes National Park.  We approached the primitive camping area via the primitive road over Medano Pass (10,040').  Colorado Springs to Westcliffe, and then south to the intersection of the road to Medano Pass.  The pictures show the Sangre de Cristo mountains with snow in places.  There was a haze due to the smoke from all the California and Colorado fires blowing into the area.  See Pictures in the Gallery.

SEP 20:  Got up and fixed breakfast, coffee over the single burner propane bottle.  Wok style.  Real easy to cook and to clean up.  Broke camp about 10:30 am and began driving toward the dunes, leaving the primitive campsites behind.  Took a few pictures as we approached the dunes (from behind).  Finally reached the paved road about 12:30 pm and began airing up the tires on the Toyota FJ Cruiser.  I was snapping a few photos while Simon used his onboard air compressor to bring the tire pressure from 20 psi back to 50 psi for highway speeds.  He was airing up the last of the 4 tires when he observed me drop my iPhone on the pavement.  I stooped over to pick it up, and my left hand couldn't grasp it tight enough, so,  I picked it up with my right hand and transferred it to my left to continue taking pictures.  The time was 1:10 PM.  When Simon heard the phone hit the pavement a 2nd time, he knew something was wrong.  I didn't know or comprehend the nature of the problem  He helped me into the passenger seat and off we sped to the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, CO.  Thus began a magnificent series of logistical and medical blessings that would culminate in a Life Flight trip from Alamosa to Colorado Springs.   The neurosurgeon met the helicopter on the roof and I was taken immediately into emergency surgery.  Two of the three cerebral arteries on the right side of my brain were completely blocked.  Within 90 minutes of landing on the roof of the hospital, the surgery was complete and both large clots were removed.  Smaller ones in very narrow blood vessels were left in place as the risk to capture them was too great.  A blessing to have so many people available at the right time and they all did the right things to speed up the clot removal.  I am blessed.   Just wait until I tell about the miracle healing that came the next day...!
