Welcome to my CaringBridge website.

The story information below summarize the start of our family journey with cancer starting with my breast cancer in 2018.

Now fast forward to February 2023. A CT Scan this week shows that it’s likely my breast cancer has metastasized to the ribs and spine. We’ve scheduled more tests to learn more. Follow my entries below for updates as we begin this new journey.

SYNOPSIS from 2018-2020:

I got a call back after a routine mammogram in early December 2018.  A biopsy showed breast cancer (Invasive Lobular Carcinoma).  I had a mastectomy in late January  and started chemotherapy in late February. I had 6 months of chemotherapy followed by 6 weeks of radiation. I'm also taking  estrogen inhibitor medication which I'll continue for the next 5 years. I'm now in remission and will go for checkups with my oncologist every three months.

In June 2019, our daughter, Lauren Washam Bradshaw, was also diagnosed with cancer (a rare type called Undifferentiated Uterine Sarcoma). I've incorporated news of her journey into this page. After a valiant battle, Lauren passed away May 12, 2020. For her obituary and tributes, visit lauren-bradshaw.forevermissed.com.

Our whole family appreciates the support we've gotten from all of you. Friends and family make all the difference!
