Late in the night on August 17 Todd fell down the cellar stairs at a friend’s summer home on Cape Cod, landing on the concrete floor below. He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence- the closest Level 1 Trauma Center. Here he was diagnosed with a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) and immediately underwent life-saving surgery.
Todd remains unconscious. He is heavily sedated. He is receiving excellent care, and the medical professionals have our complete trust and deep gratitude. They have been a blessing in the midst of our family crisis.
Alice, Tim, Gabe and I have also received constant support from family and friends. We all, including Todd, could not be in better hands.
Whether the future is tomorrow, next week or many months from now, we just don’t know what it holds. We’ve set up this site to keep you informed as best we can. If there are updates to be shared they will be posted here; otherwise, our attention will be focused on Todd.
We have been heartened, comforted, and slightly overwhelmed by the all of the expressions of concern from those we love. So that Todd has our full attention, we lovingly ask you depend on this site for information and as a way to express your concern.
These are the early days of a long journey, and we assure you that we will reach out for help as it’s needed. For now, we ask for your prayers for Todd, us, and his medical team. We love you all.
