Starting on 12/24/17 Walter had extreme weakness in his legs and he fell. He went to the ER at Milford Regional Medical Center on 12/26 and was admitted to the hospital with beginning pneumonia and a UTI. The pneumonia and UTI have been clearing with with IV antibiotics, but his condition has been worsening, with fluids on his lungs and heart. On 01/03/18, unable to keep his oxygen saturation and breathing supported with an oxygen mask, doctors intubated him and transferred him to the ICU. He is currently still intubated and sedated. He has begun breathing a little on his own and he has progressively needed less oxygen. Doctors have done several tests, but still cannot determine the cause of his breathing problems.
