Wally was diagnosed with Primary Myelofibrosis in June 2016. Myelofibrosis is a chronic blood cancer in which excessive scar tissue forms in the bone marrow and impairs its ability to produce normal blood cells, so Wally's blood cell production has moved to his spleen. This means that Wally's spleen has become very large.
