Most of you know that Wallace is scheduled for epilepsy surgery Feb 10 2021. He will have the area of his brain causing his seizures removed. In an effort to keep everyone updated on his progress I created this site! 


Wallace was officially diagnosed with epilepsy in March of 2020 right as the pandemic hit and 6 weeks before Smith joined our family! It has been an intense year . Several month before we started to notice what we thought were facial ticks . As time went on they became bigger and more frequent. Furthering questioning and tests revealed that they were seizures. After an MRI we discovered that Wallace has a focal cortical dysplasia and it was likely that medication would have a difficult time controlling his seizures. While we tried medications for many months in the fall his seizures began to increase and become more intense , sometimes having 10-12 a day. In December we had an EEG which confirmed that all of his seizures were coming from the dysplasia. This is a positive when considering surgery! A few more tests and now here we are waiting for surgery . Wallace has a phenomenal team of doctors who have been wonderful every step of the way. His surgeon believes that we have a 70 percent chance of seizure freedom with the surgery.  We will use this to keep everyone updated on his progress through surgery, recovery and rehab. 


We have so appreciated all the support, prayers, meals , gifts for wallace and everything else along this journey! We have an incredible group of people behind this little guy and he is so loved.
