Welcome to the CaringBridge website for Vince Carpino.  We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.  We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.  Please feel free to share the site with other friends.

After experiencing episodes of numbness, tingling and weakness on his left side, in late February, our beloved friend, Vince Carpino was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He has had several consultations with numerous doctors, and the recommendation is to remove the tumor as soon as possible.

Vince will have surgery on July 22 at the Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF, recognized by U.S News & World Report as the #1 hospital for neurosurgery and neurology in the country. He will undergo an awake craniotomy to remove as much of the tumor as is safely possible, while preserving his motor functions. The tumor is likely to be malignant; however, we will not know the results until it is biopsied with pathology post-surgery. Luckily, a longtime friend graciously opened up her home, a short distance away from UCSF, to stay post-surgery during Vince’s recovery. Once the family is home, we will send out a message if you would like to contribute to the Meal Train.

Vince is a loving husband to Holly, father to Scarlett and Enzo, brother to Guy and Nick, son of Marie and Louis, and friend to many.  He has served with the Orange County Fire Authority for over 20 years as a Division Chief of Special Operations, Fire Battalion Chief, Fire Captain, and paramedic. He is also a dedicated baseball coach and commissioner, serving on the Board of Directors for Laguna Niguel Little League.

The Carpino family appreciates your love and support and that of our entire community. Together, wrap the family in love and build a foundation of strength they can lean on in these challenging times. Please feel free to add a “Well Wish” for Vince and Holly to read. As there are updates, we will post them here.
