Victory for Violet
I wanted to post to let you all know what is happening. As some of you may know or have heard that our family is going through the hardest thing we have ever had to endure. My daughter Violet, for the past two weeks has been suffering from persistent cold and flu like symptoms, that started with hives all over the body. After seeing many doctors and several trips to the emergency room we ended up at Children’s hospital in Seattle Friday night / early Saturday morning. The doctors here performed a ultrasound on Violet’s stomach and found a large mass. CT Scans later showed a large tumor in her stomach and smaller ones on her lungs, neck, and face. My sweet Violet has cancer. After a biopsy and further testing it has been identified as Non Hodgkins Lynphoma. Specifically a type that is called Burkitts, which is a very rapid spreading and growing cancer. The doctors here have put together a very aggressive treatment plan and have a positive outlook on the results we will achieve. Violet has an uphill battle, but she is a fighter and will get through this. Also needless to say her mom and I will stop at nothing to help her. At this time I am asking everyone to please keep Violet in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate everyone who has rushed to our side and given us support and couldn't get through this with out you. Sharon and I are doing our best to remain strong for our precious daughter, while still processing the gravity of the situation and all the emotions that come with it. Again, we appreciate the show of support and it does help through these times, but keep in mind that Violet’s recovery consumes every minute of the day at this time. If you do not hear back from us, please know your message was received and appreciated. Sharon, myself, or our immediate family will do our best to keep everyone informed of Violets progress.
