Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer March 30th (2017). She has an extremely large tumor in her colon, and the cancer has spread to her liver and both lungs. Mom started intense rounds of chemotherapy every 2 weeks May 1st. My parents currently reside in Jacksonville, FL, and Mom is in very good medical hands at the Mayo Clinic there. Anna and Trevor also live in Jacksonville, while Michael and I (Rachel) live in Birmingham, AL. Anna and Trevor were set to move to Michigan July 1st for a new job for Anna. However, after Mom’s diagnosis, they were able to push their move out until January (2018). Jeri and Gloria Little, Anna’s in-laws, who served on the mission field in Romania with my parents for many years and are some of their oldest and dearest friends, also reside in Jacksonville now. Anna & Trevor and Jeri & Gloria have been such a huge practical and comforting support for Mom and Dad right now. How merciful of God to surround my parents with family and close friends during such a trying time.

My family and I can’t thank each one of you enough from the bottom of our hearts for all the outpouring of love, support, care and concern shown toward us and prayers offered up for us since Mom’s diagnosis a couple months ago. After reconnecting with so many of you from all over the world, from different seasons of my parents’ life, I’ve decided to use this site as a forum for updates so we can keep you all more easily informed!
