Vicki Kennedy Another Faith Adventure

Vicki was recently diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of the right breast after a routine mammogram discovered several areas of concern.  More upcoming tests will determine if it has spread to any other areas of her body. Over the next month, she will be undergoing these tests, and then a double mastectomy to remove the cancer and reconstruct the breast areas, then two to three more follow-up surgeries will be performed over the next year.
As many of you know, Vicki suffered sudden cardiac arrest in 2014, prompting multiple stents to be placed and bypass surgery to be performed.  She has recovered well from those procedures and has continued to grow stronger, feeling good about her "new normal".  The recent cancer diagnosis has also come out of the blue. As with the heart attack, there were no significant outward signs or symptoms, which we are thankful for. But we are also grateful that technology has allowed the early detection of breast cancer. 

Please check this Caring Bridge site often over the next month, as we will be posting updates here so family and friends can stay up-to-date on her progress. Many of you have asked if there is anything you can do to help, and the answer is a resounding yes! Because one of her primary doctors involved in the surgeries is not in her insurance network, we are attempting to help her raise the funds that must be paid in full prior to the double mastectomy surgery on August 1.
