On the morning of October 10th, Vickie was walking Sophie when a turning car struck her. The dog ran free (uninjured), but Vickie was pinned beneath the car for awhile, unconscious.   Rescue workers came quickly, rescued her, had to perform CPR, and she was transported to Harborview. Christina has been with her as immediate concerns are addressed. Two issues are requiring the most attention: neurological function and a major burn from the car engine/exhaust system. As Vickie comes out of sedation and tests continue, more will be known about next steps. We will share more in journal entries here as is appropriate to the unfolding situation -- including ways we may be of help in reaching out in support to Christina. For now, Christina feels most supported by prayers. Visitors are not yet encouraged. Please hold both Christina and Vickie close in these long hours. Please pray, too, for all who give them care.
