Vickie Carlson I have WHAT?????

So it's a couple weeks before Christmas which is my favorite holiday. I'm feeling pretty festive. Our house is decorated, our tree is up and there's even snow covering the ground. My gift list is made out and even has several items checked off. As the worlds biggest procrastinator, I am feeling unusually well prepared for the holidays this year.   But I was not  prepared for December 11, 2016.  After waking with an indescribable pain in my stomach, I landed in the ER at Swedish American Hospital.  They were ale to get the pain to a tolerable level and ran some tests.   The lab tests showed I had pancreatitis and dehydration so I was admitted to the hospital for more testing.  I am suddenly not feeling at all prepared  for Christmas.  Or anything else that was coming my way.  I was discharged from the hospital on December  19 with a diagnosis of Pancreatic cancer.  I would need to have more testing to determine if I had just the tumor in my pancreas which would be treated by very complex surgery to hopefully remove the cancer.  If the the cancer has spread at all the treatment will be chemotherapy.    So now I'm waiting , hoping, and praying.  And, oh yeah, taking a lot of naps.
