Vera had been stable on home dialysis for years. 2015 was a year of infections one after the other. She lost more than 40 pounds and became much weaker. 2016 was a slow regression of activity and strength. Several months ago she had turn for the worse and continued to decline in strength and activity.  Time she spent  up in her chair became shorter and soon was rare at all. Her last time up to a chair was Holloween night while the grandkids were here in costume and trick r treaters coming to the door. She continued to converse and watch TV for a few more weeks although for shorter periods. Now she is just sleeping about 23+ hours a day and this week has not been able to hold conversation and has only had a few nibbles.
