Ray Jerrett Updates for Ray Jerrett

First post: Aug 16, 2019 Latest post: Nov 19, 2020
Ray was in a major car accident on Tuesday, August 13th around 10:00pm that left him with 3rd degree burns on 20% of his body. Ray was driving home when he lost control of his vehicle and went over a large rock on the side of the road, and into an empty field where his vehicle then caught fire. Thankfully, one of his neighbors heard the crash and rushed to the scene. He pulled Ray out of his vehicle and put out the fire on his body. Another good Samaritan stopped to help, and they pulled Ray behind a tree one minute before the vehicle exploded.  The accident happened near his home in Rescue, CA and he was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center. Ray is critical but stable condition in the UC Davis Burn Center ICU, surrounded by family.  He will need to stay for about 6 weeks while he heals.

DeAnna and the kids are doing as best as can be expected. To help them heal, we ask that you do not call, text, or message DeAnna about updates. We will be posting updates on this website. Please reach out to Gina Seidel, Ray's Sister, for any additional information you may need: Gina Seidel (916) 396-7566 (tel:(916) 396-7566) (tel:(916) 396-7566 (tel:(916) 396-7566)) or ginaseidel69@yahoo.com.

As Ray is in the ICU at the Burn Center, at this time we are limiting visitors as the doctors are trying to keep outside exposure to a minimum to avoid infection. If you would like to come visit DeAnna in the waiting room, please contact Gina.  As healing progresses, visitation will be expanded.

The family is asking that no flowers be sent to Ray so that we can minimize infection, but to instead donate to the Firefighters Burn Institute.
To donate visit: https://DonateNow.networkforgood.org/firefightersburninstitute.

We thank God for sending a guardian angel to Ray that night!  Our family is looking forward to meeting Scott in person to thank him for his selflessness and bravery.   https://www.mtdemocrat.com/news/man-pulled-from-burning-vehicle/

Please feel free to leave well wishes on this site and they will be relayed to Ray.    Cards can be dropped off or mailed to Carol’s restaurant in West Sacramento,  We will laminate them (hospital requirement) and hang them up in his room.

Thank you all for your love and support.
