Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Friday, June 8, Tyler received a diagnoses of Stage IV clear cell sarcoma.  He had been suffering with abdominal and back pain for several weeks and had visited different urgent care facilities and emergency rooms to try to get relief.  As Tyler puts it, "a radiology tech who went the extra mile"  at a local urgent care facility identified a 6 cm mass in his lung which immediately led to a week of diagnostic testing at KU Med Center resulting in the final diagnosis.

Tyler was released from the hospital on Friday and went home to be with family and friends and get ready for this fight.  He has decided to summarize his battle in one brief note - #futurecancersurvivor.   All of us that love Tyler especially his daughter Marlee, his girlfriend Alaina, his mother Rachelle, his father John and his brother Dylan  (the love list would probably take weeks to read so we are going to stop it there) intend to be right there with him, every step of the way, whatever it takes.

Right now Tyler is out being Tyler and waiting for his first appointment this coming Wednesday, June 13.  He will be seeing, Ben Powers M.D.  who is a medical oncologist with KU Cancer Center that specializes in the treatment of sarcomas.   They will be discussing treatment options and where, when and how to start this battle.

As Tyler's fan club and love army is MASSIVE,  direct communication with him and his immediate family might be overwhelming.  Right now they all need to focus on fighting this disease and Tyler's health and well being.  They ask that you please get your updates from this website.  We will be posting updates as much as possible.

Again, thank you for visiting.  Your comments will be read and are appreciated as well as your well wishes and prayers.  #teamburnett
