On the first day of spring, March 20th at 5:36pm we welcomed our sons into the world. At 29 weeks and 6 days the boys started to look more distressed on the monitors and our doctor recommended delivery.
Dalton Alexander, Dax, was born first at 2lbs 11oz. He was followed 1 minute later by his little brother Tyson James, Ty, who was 1lbs and 1oz. Both boys were whisked to the NICU and their amazing doctors say they are both fighters. The purpose of this page is to help share the boys progress as they grow.
The boys lives will always be intertwined with the life of their little sister Mara Juliette. Our littlest angel was born sleeping. We lost her on March 11th. MJ was a strong, brave, perfect little girl with a small placenta that could not support her. At that time her estimated weight was 290grams, which was far too small for the NICU to help her had she been born. Mara is now the angel watching over her brothers in the NICU.
The boys face a lot of hurdles but we hope to bring them home sometime in late May or early June. We will have a ceremony to celebrate Mara this summer after her brothers come home.
