My name is Turner Hammett. I am 19 years old and a Freshman at the American College of the Building Arts studying Forged Architectural Ironwork. Blacksmithing has been a dream of mine for many years and it is what I love. To be able to attend this college and learn this trade is a dream come true, however I have had an unexpected turn of events that are keeping from fulfilling my dream. In December of 2017, after only 1 semester of college, I was diagnosed with a compression fracture in my spine and Leukemia. I am starting my first round of chemotherapy immediately. Once the Leukemia is remission, I will need to have surgery to repair the fractured vertabrae.
I am receiving treatment at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC which is 3 hours from home. The Leukemia treatment can be several months long.
We will have many expenses that we need help with including medical bills, hotels, meals, and travel. We could use financial assistance as soon as possible as we have already incurred many medical bills and travel expenses leading up to this diagnosis.

The Bible teaches us that God is Almighty, Sovereign, Just, Good, Kind. Faithful, All Wise, All Knowing, All Present, All Powerful, Loving, Unchanging, and Infinite to name a few. We can take great comfort in knowing that since He is infinite, there is no end to His love, kindness, forgiveness, etc., and since He is Unchanging then He will always be Who He is and we can always trust and depend on Him. Whatever we endure is for our good and for His glory.
