Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Tristan was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis in May 2018. He was given steroids to treat the symptoms he was having. His body quickly rejected the meds and his health went downhill quickly. Within 2 weeks he was admitted to Doernbecher Children's hospital. His blood levels dropped drastically, heart rate decreased and he was so very weak.
Tristan's diagnosis updated to Severe Refractory Ulcerative Colitis aggrevated  by severe iron deficiency anemia. We spent a week in the hospital and were very close to losing him. Even after 2 blood transfusions he still was not progressing. The decision was made to start a biosimilar treatment: Infliximab. This is administered by iv and must be done every 8 weeks...indefinitely.
