Trista Brown

As many of you know in  September Trista began to have some medical issues. After going in for a blood test, her doctor told her to report to Valley Children's Hospital.  We found out that her blood panels came back very low, they talked about it being leukemia, a virus or aplastic anemia.  After 3 bone marrow biopsies and biweekly transfusion for 12 weeks, Trista has been scheduled for a Bone Marrow Transplant at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. They believe that she has idiopathic bone marrow failure(it's broken and they don't know why).  Whether the diagnosis is idiopathic bone marrow failure or sever aplastic anemia, the treatment is essentially the same.


Fortunately, her brother Reese was a match.  This makes the procedures safer and gives it a better chance to succeed.  As you can imagine, this news has been devastating on Trista and the rest of us.  Our family has a "heavy peace" about this situation.  Our resolve is to walk through this knowing that none of this has surprised God.  God loves Trista more than any of us.  His purpose is our desire during this season.


As of today, they are anticipating that the procedure will happen beginning sometime between Jan.1 - Jan. 15.  Trista will be in the hospital for approximately 3 months.  Holly will be staying with her most of the time.  We can not say enough great things about our medical teams at Kaiser, Valley Children's and UCSF Benioff.  Our friends, family and community have been supportive of Trista and our family, for that we thank you all.


The road ahead of us is long and unknown.  We walk it as a family; as a community, believing that He is faithful.
